Sink and disposal

Keep the busiest drain healthy:

• Never pour grease down the drain
• Run cold water while using the disposal
• Flush the drain with hot water weekly
• Avoid fibrous foods, bones, and starchy peels in the disposal

Under the sink

Check the cabinet for early leak signs:

• Look for drips or moisture at the trap and supply lines
• Confirm shutoff valves turn freely
• Check the dishwasher and ice-maker connections

When to call a plumber

Recurring clogs, a persistent under-sink leak, or a disposal that keeps jamming are signs to bring in a pro before a small issue floods the cabinet.
